In the Dumbell lab we work to understand the neuroendocrine regulation of energy balance – appetite, growth and energy expenditure, how these pathways are influenced by seasonal and circadian rhythms, and genetic contribution to their disruption.
Why do some people feel more hungry than others?
From genes and molecules to cells to whole body. We use state of the art technology in metabolic phenotyping and viral and molecular tools to understand how the brain influences whole body metabolism and ingestive behaviour.
The Dumbell lab is a place we value honesty, trust, integrity, mutual respect, inclusiveness, fairness and responsibility.
These inclusive values are the foundation of our work, and we will build on these to maintain and improve research productivity, reproducibility, and replicability.
